Nicholas regularly advises on domestic and cross-border transactions involving both Danish and international buyers and sellers.

Through an extensive international network, he assists Danish businesses seeking foreign investors or acquirers, as well as international companies looking to establish or expand their presence in Denmark.
His background as a diplomat in the Middle East has provided him with a strong understanding of the cultural and commercial differences that often arise in international transactions. This experience helps build trust between parties and contributes to successful deal execution.

Defence Industry

As a former Army officer with operational deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, Nicholas brings a unique perspective to legal advisory work within the defence sector.

He advises Danish and international companies operating in the defence and dual-use industries on matters including public defence procurement, export controls, manufacturing and export licences, and international agency and distribution arrangements.

Nicholas assists established defence contractors, investors, and international businesses seeking access to the Danish and Nordic defence markets. His combination of legal expertise and practical military experience makes him a trusted adviser in a sector characterised by complex regulation, security considerations, and international cooperation.

Recent engagements include advising a publicly listed Asian company in connection with a procurement process for armoured vehicles for the Danish Armed Forces, as well as advising a Polish buyer in relation to a potential acquisition of a Danish dual-use manufacturer.

Employment law

Employment law forms an essential part of any successful business. Nicholas and his team advise on all aspects of the employment lifecycle, from recruitment and incentive programmes to business transfers, restructurings, dismissals, and executive exits.
He advises business owners, management teams, and HR departments on both day-to-day employment matters and complex workplace disputes, and has represented clients in numerous employment-related court proceedings.
His experience includes disputes concerning incentive schemes and warrants, disability discrimination claims, and the dismissal of senior employees in cases involving financial irregularities.

Alongside his core practice areas, Nicholas takes on a small number of cases each year that raise particularly interesting or fundamental legal questions.

Most recently, he successfully represented a client before the Western High Court in a case concerning whether a unilateral promise could be legally binding. The case contributed to the clarification of a fundamental principle of Danish contract law.
